I photograph food. While I was studying Photography at Columbia College, a visiting art director showed incredible photographs of food on 8×10 transparencies. I knew then that I had found my passion. Twenty-some years later we’ve traded in those transparencies for huge monitors and tremendous digital control. Over the years I’ve shot ads, billboards, point-of-purchase displays, recipe booklets, FSIs and menu boards, though in recent years I’ve specialized in packaging. Of course it’s great to shoot a mouthwatering recipe, with perfect props and the right lighting, but in packaging I’m challenged to make food that comes in a box or a bag look equally delicious and tempting. I love the challenge each project presents and strive to make every photograph absolutely irresistible.
